But a farmer at Teen Ped village, Prawit Saejea has his way to succeed. Teen Ped village is located in Thai Muang district of Phang-Nga province. Applying the sufficiency economy principle advocated by HM the King of Thailand, Prawit has now transformed the 3 rai land into a successful farm plot. Not only that, he managed to add an extra 9 rai to carry out comprehensive farming. Learning from the principle, Prawit does not focus on only one type of crop, but wisely uses the land for three types of agriculture. The first type is for orchard farming so he can harvest annually. The fruits comprise different kinds including rambutan, mangosteen and even vegetables like long green beans. For the second type, he plants crops which produce and harvest monthly such as oil palm which is mixed with herbal or kitchen plants. The third type focuses on herbal plants and vegetables.
